Life-sized dinosaurs to roam lake titiwangsa: Celebrating 50 years of independence with a unique twist at the eye on malaysia.

MST AD SURIA, the world-class events experts behind the Eye on Malaysia invites Malaysians to enjoy a plethora of eye-popping Merdeka Specials at the Eye on Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 August 2007 (Thursday): In conjunction with Malaysia’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, MST AD SURIA, the homegrown world-class events specialist, is proud to launch several new attractions at the Eye on Malaysia today. The highlights include the Arena Vision light show, Southern Hemisphere dinosaurs, an inflatable prehistoric garden of plants and insects, and the quirky Waterheads.

Pn Widyanty Yusope, Executive Director of MST AD SURIA, said: “We at MST AD SURIA are delighted to host these fantastic Merdeka Specials at the Eye on Malaysia. These colourful and dynamic activities, staged against the striking backdrop of the Eye on Malaysia, guarantee that this will be a unique interactive and visual experience that is not to be missed.”

Pn Widyanty is echoed by Scott Wright, the Managing Director of The Erth – the company behind the dinosaurs, prehistoric garden and Waterheads – who said: “When we teamed up with MST AD SURIA to bring these unique performances to the Eye on Malaysia, we had one single aim – to present a world-class show to visitors and tourists as our part in making Malaysia’s Golden 50 year milestone of Nationhood and Independence a truly memorable experience.”

Joining MST AD SURIA and the media at the launch are 400 orphans and disabled children from selected care homes. Pn Widyanty said: “As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, we are pleased to work with 12 associations including Soroptimist International Petaling Jaya, Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih, Persatuan Sindrom Down Malaysia, Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, Yayasan Harapan Kanak-Kanak Malaysia, Rumah Titiwangsa, Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Rita, Rumah Hope, Autism, Dyslexia, and Disabled Kajang to have these special guests with us today to help us celebrate the debut of these Merdeka Specials. We fully intend for them to have a wonderful time as the first Malaysians to enjoy these treats.”

According to Pn Widyanty, the staging of these Merdeka Specials is also part of MST AD SURIA’s commitment to the transfer of skills and technologies from foreign experts to Malaysian talent. She said: “MST AD SURIA’s staff are excited to have the opportunity to work with and learn from Mr Lethlean and Mr Wright who are both world-class experts in their respective fields. We are looking forward to this boost in our knowledge and skills which we will be able to apply to similar projects in the future.”

The centerpiece of the Merdeka Specials is Arena Vision – the brainchild of MST AD SURIA and lighting specialist, Philip Lethlean. Mr Lethlean said: “Arena Vision is custom-designed to spectacularly illuminate the Eye on Malaysia in a rainbow of colours, making the night-time rides even more breathtaking.” The Arena Vision light show will be available nightly between 1 August 2007 and 31 December 2007. This visual feast will complement the popular Theatre of the Waters show.

For daytime visitors, there will be a series of limited edition interactive performances which will take place daily between 3 August 2007 and 9 September 2007. The main attraction is a team of five Southern Hemisphere dinosaurs consisting of a dwarf Allosaur, a Dienonycus (a kind of small Raptor), an Ozraptor, a small Ankylosaur and a Dryosaur which will roam freely around the Eye, interacting with children and the young-at-heart.

Accompanying these awesome dinosaurs is an inflatable ancient garden of plants with insects walking about on giant stilts. The dinosaurs, plants and insects are drawn from the story of prehistoric life in the Southern Hemisphere. In between the dinosaurs’ performances, the Waterheads – real people with their heads completely submerged in fish tanks – will take the limelight. They will mingle with the crowd and wow one and all with their amazing ability to hold their breath.

Pn Widyanty said: “We at MST AD SURIA are confident that Malaysians and tourists both young and old will enjoy these performances and we are proud to do our part to make Malaysia’s Golden Jubilee of Independence celebrations the best Merdeka celebrations ever.”
